Flat roof build-up explained
A warm flat roof has six parts: the structural deck, a vapour control layer, thermal insulation, a separation layer where needed, the waterproofing membrane with its fixing, and drainage. Each layer is chosen for the others.
Mechanically fastened PVC roofing: how it works
In a mechanically fastened PVC roof the membrane is fixed through the insulation into the deck along the overlaps, and the next sheet is hot-air welded over the fasteners. Fastener density is calculated for wind uplift and increases at edges and corners.
